I have always liked SK II products for a number of reason – its light texture, its light scent, and of course, simple but class packaging. Besides its classic line of skin care, SK II has several others – for lightening, anti-aging, and also one for men.
Most men will scowl at having too many steps in a skin care regime, hence, it is always important to look for one which is simple and effective.
I personally believe that men should at least stick to the skin care steps of:
Wash, Treatment/Moisturise, Sunblock for the morning, and
Wash, Treatment/Moisturise for the night. Simple, but important skin care steps which will take you a long way.

Texture/ Scent : SK II for Men Revitalize Moisturizer
A moisturiser for men, especially in hot and humid Singapore, will have to be lightweight. Mens’ skin is thicker and oiler, and heavier textured creams are not suitable unless you are travelling to a cold, dry country.
Men Revitalize Moisturizer scores on the texture – it is a lightweight lotion with a very light scent. It is absorbed into the skin quickly, leaving a smooth finish.

SK II’s star ingredient Galactomyces Ferment Filtrate, or Pitera, an organic compound derived from yeast, is said to be full of vitamins, minerals and aino acids which repari damaged skin and improve skin regeneration. Indeed, Pitera has been shown in in-house studies to improve skin colour and texture, exert anti-aging benefits, and stimute collagen to improve skin elasticity. Reviews from SK II’s many users have been mixed to positive – It is not the miracle ingredient SK II makes it out to be, but many do notice improved skin with continued use.
Naicinamide (Vitamin B3) is a commonly used skin care ingredient which has multiple benefits for aging skin – including improving skin tone and texture, skin elasticity, skin moisture content, and pigmentation. In addition, Niacinamde has beneficial effects on acne, improving both active acne and red acne scars which pimples leave behind.
Other ingredients in the moisturizer serve to improve the texture on application or help perform its moisturizing effectm with no potentially harmful additives which I can identify.

Precautions : SK II for Men Revitalize Moisturizer
1) While Pitera is large safe, I have seen cases, though rare, of allergic reactions to it. If you have sensitive skin, be sure to test the product in in an inconspicuous area first – such as behind the ear, when using a new product. If reactions such as redness, itchiness, or swelling occurs, remember to consult your doctor.
2) Avoid using the moisturizer together with Vitamin C, as the acidity of Vitamin C can decrease the potency of Niacinamide. Either wait 30 minutes interval before applying the 2, or use one in the morning and the other at night. Of course, never mix Vitamin C and SK II Men Revitalize Moistuizer in your palm before you apply.

All in all, I like the SK II Men Revitalize Moistuizer, and will recommend it to anyone looking for a lightweight, anti-aging mosturizer. Expect a matte, sooth feel on application, with some long term anti-aging effects after using for a month or two.
The big downside, however, is its price: a 50ml bottle retails for SGD $155. There are cheaper, just as good alternatives for those who are not willing to spend so much on a single product.
